Jeff Skinner has clearly not played up to expectations since he returned from a concussion.
Prior to sustaining the head injury on February 14th, Skinner registered 14 points in 13 games. Since returning from a five game absence, he has registered only five points in 14 games. Skinner doesn't believe he is doing anything significantly different since being concussed but he did say that maybe he's made some slight adjustments. The game happens so fast and it's always an adjustment when you come back from an injury, especially when you miss five or six games," he said. "I think coming back you sort of realize there's a time and a place to take a hit to make a play, and there's a time and a place to sort of back off and just get it deep or something like that", said Skinner. "So maybe a little bit. But I think it's so minimal, the difference in trying to adjust your game. You're always going to wind up playing the same way." Let's hope he's right and he can save his season with a strong finish.
