Tuukka Rask expected to play more in 2011-12

Coach Claude Julien is expecting to play Tuukka Rask in goal more often in 2011-12.

Rask is coming off arthroscopic surgery and will take it a little easier in training camp but will be ready for the start of the season barring any setbacks. "I think it's pretty obvious that Tuukka has to take a bigger bite this year for that reason," Julien said as starting goalie Tim Thomas is 37 and played 57 regular season and 25 playoff games last season. "That's not a secret. I don't plan on making that a secret. Tim is a great goaltender. But Tim is a goaltender that understands, too, that he can't play 70-plus games in a regular season. He's had a long playoff. I think Tim is going to be just as happy as we are to have Tuukka here and playing some of his best hockey." Rask should get into 30 games this season and makes an outstanding handcuff to Thomas in pools.
