Ryan Murray is slowing recovering from shoulder surgery that he underwent in mid-January.
"It's coming. It feels a lot better than it did, a lot stronger," he said. "It's painful for a couple of days, and it takes a while before you can use it for anything. But in all my visits to (Dr. Anthony Miniaci at the Cleveland Clinic), they've said it's recovering well, right on track." Murray, who the Blue Jackets chose second overall in the 2012 draft, will spend the next six weeks rehabilitating in Columbus before another doctor's check-up. He expects to be ready for training camp next year.
