Alex Aleardi signed an amateur tryout agreement with Columbus' minor-league affiliate in Springfield.
He attended the Blue Jackets' development camp in June and he would've participated in the team's fall training camp if he wasn't canceled by the lockout. Aleardi, who was never drafted, set a career high with 71 points (27 goals and 44 assists) in 67 games between Plymouth and Windsor in his last season of OHL competition.
