Alex Ovechkin thinks this week could define the Washington Capitals' season.
Washington has a 12-15-1 record, which ties them for 12th in the Eastern Conference and puts them six points out of a playoff spot. They will play four games on their next road, with matches against Pittsburgh, the New York Rangers, and back-to-back games in Winnipeg. "It's biggest week for us. How we going to play this week, we can end the season this week or we continue to fight for the playoffs," Alex Ovechkin said. "We have to see what's in our side and we have to see what's going to happen situation when different teams going to play, Carolina, Tampa and Winnipeg as well." At this point, the Capitals chances of making the playoffs look slim, but a very strong showing this week might put them back within striking distance.
