Mark Streit, Islanders start contract talks

Mark Streit and the New York Islanders have begun contract negotiations.
Streit is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. "Everyone knows I like it here," Streit said. "The locker room is great, the living on Long Island, so we'll see." If the Islanders don't feel confident about their chances of re-signing Streit, they might attempt to trade him before the April 3rd deadline.
