Giroux downplays vital nature of game Friday
Claude Giroux - C - Philadelphia Flyers
March 15, 2013 - 1:10 PM ET

Claude Giroux doesn't think the Philadelphia Flyers' playoff chances are on the line Friday night.

Ilya Bryzgalov previously stated that the Flyers would be done if they lost both games of their home-and-home series against the New Jersey Devils. They already lost the first contest on Wednesday. "I don't truly believe we're done if we lose this game," Giroux said. "Obviously, it's a big game for us. We need to climb back in the standings, but you can't be saying that the season's going to be over if you lose this game. Obviously, we need to play the way we can play. And it'll be one game at a time. The message is clear ... Everybody knows what to do out there." The Flyers rhetoric hasn't been bad their season, it's their execution that's been lacking. We'll see if they can finally start to turn the tide Friday night.
