Ilya Kovalchuk - W - New Jersey Devils
March 15, 2013 - 8:30 AM ET

Ilya Kovalchuk potted his league-leading fourth shorthanded goal of the year in Wednesday's win over Philadelphia.

Last season, the Devils set an NHL record for the best penalty-killing percentage (89.58 percent) and led the league with 15 shorthanded goals. They have eight so far this season, which leads the pack again. The Devils utilize an aggressive penalty kill with skilled players like Kovalchuk (4), Patrik Elias (1) and Adam Henrique (2), which has helped them remain a threat to score while killing penalties. In case you were wondering, defenseman Andy Green has the other one.
