Dan Ellis allowed three goals on 25 shots Thursday as the Hurricanes were beaten by Washington by a score of 3-2.
Carolina was seemingly in command of this game as they held a 2-0 lead in the second period until Washington scored once and potted two more in the third frame to steal a win. Ellis and Justin Peters should continue to split time in goal for the Hurricanes with Cam Ward on the shelf with an injury.
