Sven Baertschi's demotion will help career
Sven Baertschi - W - Calgary Flames
March 11, 2013 - 5:30 AM ET

The demotion of Sven Baertschi to the AHL should benefit him and the Flames in the long run.

"I want hockey to be fun for him again," GM Jay Feaster said. "I want him to get on top of his game. I want him to play in every situation. He'll go down there. He'll play a lot of minutes. They're starving for the kind of creativity and goal-scoring ability that he has right now in Abbotsford. He's going to kill penalties. He's going to play on the power-play. As I told him today, I want the game to be fun for him again. I want him to be able to do it away from the glare of the spotlight and the expectations in the National Hockey League." Baertschi is expected to take over from Jarome Iginla as their top offensive threat once Iginla leaves the Flames and regaining his confidence will certainly help. He deserves to be grabbed in all keeper leagues.
