Rob Klinkhammer scores first NHL goal
Rob Klinkhammer - W - Phoenix Coyotes
March 10, 2013 - 8:35 AM ET

Rob Klinkhammer scored his first career goal in his first game with the Coyotes Saturday, a 2-1 win over Dallas.

Klinkhammer drew into the lineup when Matthew Lombardi was unable to go and the entire day was an adventure for him. "It was just a whirlwind," Klinkhammer said. "I'm loving every minute of it, though. I couldn't ask for it to happen any better." Coach Dave Tippett praised Klinkhammer's effort, saying "He's a solid player, strong on the wall. He gives you a good forecheck down there." Despite leading the Portland Pirates in scoring at the time of his call-up, don't expect him to provide enough offense to be fantasy-relevant this season.
