Jaden Schwartz draws praise from Blues' coach
Jaden Schwartz - W - St Louis Blues
March 2, 2013 - 10:45 AM ET

Jaden Schwartz excelled for the St. Louis Blues in their 4-2 victory over Edmonton Friday night and coach Ken Hitchcock liked what he saw from the 20-year-old.

Schwartz scored a goal and added an assist. He "was the catalyst," Hitchcock said. "He played the right way, which was really good to see. I thought he gave the line some real moxie. I thought he played his best game for us." Expect Schwartz to stay put when the Blues begin a season-long, five-game road trip starting in Dallas on Sunday. The Blues had been imploring Schwartz to put more pucks on net, but through 16 games this season, many on the fourth line, the left winger had only managed to post two shots in one game. On Friday Schwartz had six shots ' and that was through the second period. He had a half-dozen shots in 8:47 of ice time, scoring the Blues' first goal of the game. He was put on a line with stars David Backes and T.J. Oshie so don't be surprised if Schwartz starts racking up points.
