Penguins put Evgeni Malkin (concussion) on IR

Evgeni Malkin (concussion) has been placed on the injured reserve list.
That's not at all surprising given that he sustained a concussion on Friday. He isn't expected to travel with the Penguins for their upcoming three-game road trip. As Penguins fans are well aware at this point, it's hard to gauge how long a player will miss due to a concussion. Malkin might be back in a week or two, but it's also possible that he won't play again in 2013.
