Red Wings score three times on power play

The Detroit Red Wings' much maligned power play cashed in three times Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks.
The Wings' power play has been a much discussed part of their early struggles, although it's hard to quantify how much injuries and the retirement of Nicklas Lidstrom have affected it. Detroit is still just 19th in the league at 16.5 percent after Sunday's outburst, but with Johan Franzen (hip) closing on a return that number could be on the rise soon.
