Washington GM George McPhee talked "tough" amid the King trade
McPhee said he acquired winger D.J. King because he couldn't wait for Stefan Della-Rovere to become NHL-ready. He also said, "We have no use for tough players who can't play or hurt you defensively ... what we see in (King) is someone who brings grit but looks like he could be a reliable player. If we could add a player to the club who is gritty and can play, that makes us a better team. We think if we get working with this player, he can become a reliable player who can play a little bit more."
