D-backs get Carrasco, others in Snyder deal
Bobby Crosby - SS - Pittsburgh Pirates
July 31, 2010 - 11:25 AM ET

The D-backs are expected to receive D.J. Carrasco, Bobby Crosby and Ryan Church from the Pirates in the pending deal for Chris Snyder, according to MLB.com's Steve Gilbert.

The Pirates will also receive an unidentified minor leaguer in the deal. This was mostly just a salary dump move for the D-backs, as Crosby and Church are of little use to them. Carrasco is a somewhat useful reliever, though. Snyder is due just under $1.5 million the rest of this season and $5.75 million in 2011, with a $6.75 million club option for 2012 that includes a $750,000 buyout. It's not clear yet how much money the D-backs will be sending to the Pirates in the deal.
