The NHL will hold a hearing with Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen this afternoon after his hit to the head of the Chicago Blackhawks' Marian Hossa during Tuesday night's game at the United Center.
Hansen will speak with the league at 2:30 p.m. Central on Wednesday to determine if he will be punished for the forearm to the back of Hossa's head during the third period of the Hawks' 4-3 shootout victory. The Hawks veteran, who suffered a severe concussion during last season's playoffs after an illegal hit from the Coyotes' Raffi Torres, had to be helped off the ice and did not return to the game.
