Chiefs agreed to terms with rookie S Eric Berry, the No. 5 overall pick, on a five-year, $60 million contract with $34 million guaranteed.
Though it would've been nice for Matt Cassel's sake had the Chiefs used the fifth pick on a pass protecting offensive lineman like Russell Okung, Berry proved too much of a play-maker for GM Scott Pioli to pass. An immediate starter in Kansas City, Berry is likely ticketed for strong safety. He's a sure tackler with terrific ball skills and projects as a top-ten IDP DB right off the bat.
