Aaron Gleeman of NBCSports.com confirms that Wilson Ramos has been traded to the Nationals for right-handed reliever Matt Capps.
Ramos is a rock-solid defensive catcher and posted impressive numbers in a short stint with the Twins in May while Joe Mauer was nursing an injury. He's struggled a bit at Triple-A Rochester this season, but the 22-year-old has plenty of room to grow and should do just that in the Nationals' system. Capps will add a bit of consistency to the Twins' bullpen, but it's pretty clear that Washington GM Mike Rizzo and Co. were victorious in this swap.
