Rangers acquired infielder Jorge Cantu from the Marlins for RHP Omar Poveda and RHP Evan Reed.
The deal came together quickly on Thursday afternoon and the Rangers now have their much-coveted right-handed bat. Cantu was an RBI machine at the start of the 2010 season, but he's fallen off a bit and will carry a .262/.310/.409 batting line, 10 home runs and 54 RBI into Arlington. He should see a good amount of time at first base if Chris Davis struggles.
