Stralman inks a one-year contract extension

Anton Stralman has signed a one-year/$1.95 million deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Stralman and the Blue Jackets reached an agreement mere minutes before Stralman's arbitration hearing was scheduled to begin. Stralman would have probably been awarded more money by an arbitrator, but then the Blue Jackets might've exercised their option to walk away and allow Stralman to become an unrestricted free agent. Stralman would've had a hard time getting a satisfactory contract as an unrestricted free agent this late into the summer. He scored six goals and 34 points in 73 games last season.
