Giants stepping up for Jorge Cantu

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Giants "have stepped up" for Jorge Cantu.
The Rangers and Rockies have also been in the mix for Cantu, but it looks like the Giants may have the advantage now. According to Rosenthal, the Marlins are believed to be looking for a young left-handed pitcher. It's not clear who the Giants are willing to offer, but prospects Eric Surkamp and Clayton Tanner would fit that description.
