Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Nationals have not offered Adam Dunn a contract extension in any form this summer.
That explains the rift. Dunn has hit 23 home runs this season while racking up a .935 OPS and he has drawn interest from multiple teams in the American League Central. If the Nationals have no desire to pay him, they might as well move him now. He will be a free agent at the conclusion of this season.
