Jacoby Ellsbury (ribs) was 1-for-3 as the designated hitter in his first minor league rehab game with the GCL Red Sox on Monday.
In Ellsbury's first game action since May 24, he flied out to right, singled and grounded out to the pitcher. The Boston Globe's Peter Abraham reports that Ellsbury is expected to play another game or two in the GCL before joining Double-A Portland or Triple-A Pawtucket. Hopefully the patience of fantasy owners will be rewarded.
