Malhotra shut down because of vision concerns
Manny Malhotra - C - Vancouver Canucks
Feb. 14, 2013 - 6:45 PM ET

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the decision to shut down Manny Malhotra was made because there are concerns that his vision, stemming from his previous eye injury, is not at a level that will allow him to safely play the game.

Malhotra is reportedly not prepared to retire at this time, but McKenize speculated that he might work as an unofficial assistant coach for the Canucks and Chicago Wolves to help out the players. He skated in nine games this season before the decision was made to remove him from the active roster.
