Defenseman John Negrin hopes to be healthy for the 2011-12 season.

Negrin hoped for the same thing last season as he played only 45 games in 2009-10 in the AHL before a broken wrist and knee injury derailed his season. It was even worse last season as knee surgery curtailed his season to only the final 24 games in which he managed six helpers. "It's been a long year and a half," says Negrin. "But you've got to be positive - it's part of hockey and it happens to everyone. Hopefully, all my injuries are out of the way now and I can move forward and be healthy." Negrin has a lot of talent and could be in the NHL for good by 2012-13. He was highly touted after being his first training camp in 2008 and could be a solid blueliner for the Flames in the years to come.
