Christopher Higgins signed a one-year/$1.6 million contract with the Florida Panthers.
Higgins made $2.25 million last season, but he'll take a sizable pay cut after scoring just eight goals and 17 points in 67 games between the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames. He'll almost certainly be given a chance to play on one of Florida's top two lines and he has the potential to score about 50 points next season. However, after two disappointing seasons, we wouldn't count on Higgins living up to his potential.
