According to Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post, the Marlins have fired manager Fredi Gonzalez.
Bench coach Carlos Tosca and hitting coach Jim Presley were also let go. It's interesting timing, as the Marlins have won two straight games and are playing .500 ball over their last 20 games. We probably don't know the whole story yet. Gonzalez compiled a 276-279 record (.479) during his 3 1/3 year tenure as Marlins' skipper. Edwin Rodriguez, who was the manager at Triple-A New Orleans, has been named interim manager.
