It was hard for Rangers coach John Tortorella to hide his excitement for J.T. Miller after he scored twice Thursday.
The coach is quick to point out that his first goal is developing the 19-year-old , and that he won't jump the gun in assessing him, but he likes what he sees. "He has a lot of puck poise for such a young kid," Tortorel'la said. "He's got some bite to him. I'd rather have a guy that you need to tame a little bit as he's learning to be a pro rather than [try] to get someone to play with some spunk like that. He's got some good strut to his game. We just have to make sure he doesn't cross the line the other way. He's done that a few times along the way." It's only been two games, but Miller is quickly establishing a spot for himself in the lineup.
