Report: Chipper to retire at end of season
Chipper Jones - 3B - Atlanta Braves
June 15, 2010 - 10:35 AM ET

Dave O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has heard from two sources that Chipper Jones plans to retire after this season.

It shouldn't come as shocking news. Chipper considered hanging up his cleats after a disappointing 2009 season and has not been able to stay healthy this year. He is batting .228 with a 716 OPS and three home runs in 51 games. The 38-year-old is a .306/.406/.536 career hitter.
