A "highly-placed" source tells Buster Olney of ESPN.com that there's "nothing to" a report that suggests Roy Oswalt could be traded to the Rangers.
This conflicts with a report by Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports that the Rangers were "getting closer" to acquiring the veteran right-hander. Oswalt still has a monster contract, so the bankrupt Rangers would appear ill-suited to take on such a commitment at this particular time. It's an interesting possibility, but we're not sure if it will actually go anywhere.
