A topic of discussion at the next General Managers meetings in March will be a coach's challenge, according to RDS' Renaud Lavoie.
Lavoie, who credits a "reliable source," says the French-speaking coaches he polled would be in favor of this, which seems to only include goal-related plays. Two years ago Panthers general manager Dale Tallon put it on the table, with a few on board, but then-Leafs general manager Brian Burke convinced the rest to say no because it would prolong games. The suspect calls already this season have rekindled the the idea. "I'm in favor because there are jobs and millions of dollars at stake," Lightning coach Guy Boucher said.
