
Ilya Kovalchuk knows he can produce more, but he isn't overly concerned about his offensive numbers because the team is winning.
"It's never perfect," Kovalchuk said of his play. "I think I can produce more, that's for sure. But, overall, I think we're playing well and the team is doing good, so it doesn't really matter." Coach Pete DeBoer isn't worried either because he has liked the way Kovalchuk has played despite his struggles to put up points. He has only two goals and three assists in nine games and he hasn't generated a point in his last five outings. Kovalchuk has been credited with 30 shots thus far and should break out soon.
