Beauchemin and Souray top defensive pairing
Feb. 4, 2013 - 5:05 AM ET

Francois Beauchemin and Sheldon Souray have become the Anaheim Ducks top defensive pairing.

The two were put together by coach Bruce Boudreau just over a week ago and are working out great for the Ducks as they are becoming shutdown defenders as evidenced by their effort against the Koivu-Parise-Heatley line in Minnesota and how well they played against Thornton-Marleau-Pavelski of the Sharks. "I think we've been doing a good job against anybody we've been playing," Beauchemin said. "It's been going well. We're two guys that can be physical and can skate and can contribute on the offensive end too. I think it's been a good match so far. We just got to keep it going that way." Beauchemin has a goal and plus-three rating in seven games.
