Blues call Jake Allen up from the minors

With Jaroslav Halak sidelined, it appears that Jake Allen will be called up from the AHL to back up Brian Elliott.
The St. Louis Blues probably hope that Allen won't see too much action, however, as that would mean that Elliott would be struggling. Allen faces serious competition for playing time short-term, but should eventually fight for one of the team's two goalie spots at the NHL level.
