A's Anderson (elbow) to see doctor on Friday

Brett Anderson will see a doctor on Friday in regards to the tightness in his elbow that forced him to leave Thursday's start against the Red Sox.
"It's kind of like a re-occurring of what happened last time," said Anderson, referring to his recent stint on the disabled list. "It's tough to tell how it is. ... My slider just wasn't the same. At-bats where there's two strikes, it's usually a putaway pitch. But I just left it over the middle." We'll know more on Friday, but it's very possible that he could need flexor tendon surgery, which would require a lengthy absence.
