The Detroit News is reporting that Tomas Holmstrom has signed a two-year/$3.75 million contract with the Red Wings.
It's a good deal for both teams as the Red Wings retain the 37-year-old top six forward and he will not be a strain on the salary cap. Holmstrom can still score and his willingness to play in front of the net with the man-advantage is a big help on the Detroit power play. Holmstrom makes a nice late round selection in deeper fantasy pools despite his proclivity for injuries the last three seasons.
