Wayne Simmonds suffered a concussion as a result of the elbow to the head from John Erskine on Friday night, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said.
Holmgren said there's no timetable for his return. Due to the nature of the injury and all the attention paid to the care of head injuries, the Flyers will be very careful with Simmonds here. He has two goals, three assists and 27 penalty minutes on the year. Rookie Tye McGinn replaced Simmonds on the top line. "It's disappointing," coach Peter Laviolette said before Saturday's game. "We certainly could use him in the lineup right now. His ability to score, his physical presence, the roles and situations and the minutes that he plays on our team, we'll miss him."
