Marchand calls Ruff's timeout 'disrespectful'
Brad Marchand - W - Boston Bruins
Feb. 1, 2013 - 12:30 PM ET

Brad Marchand took offense to Sabres coach Lindy Ruff calling a timeout with a mere 13.6 seconds remaining in Buffalo's blowout win.

"[Ruff] wants to be a big shot, and it was not the best play to do'pretty disrespectful," said Marchand. "If he wants to be like that, that's fine and we just have to move on." Buffalo earned a 7-4 victory over Boston. Ruff explained that he was worried that there would be an incident when Boston decided to put AHL enforcer Lane MacDermid on the ice in the dying seconds of the contest. Ruff called the timeout to get John Scott out there to counter MacDermid.
