Chad Johnson was protected by the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday and rewarded them with a charity point as they fell 2-1 to the Edmonton Oilers in overtime.
Once again, he faced very few shots - the same as Monday's 21. This time he allowed two goals, with Nail Yakupov beating him for the OT-winner. Considering how unproven he was coming into this week, that's not bad. Mike Smith is expected to be back in action this weekend, but maybe Johnson earned future starts.
