Bolts excel on offense and blocking it
Guy Boucher - C - Tampa Bay Lightning
Jan. 29, 2013 - 9:05 AM ET

Tampa Bay entered Monday night's action tied for second in the league with 86 blocked shots.

Following Monday's games they are sixth. The Lightning have excelled on offense this season and are tied with St. Louis for tops in the NHL with 24 goals apiece, but coach Guy Boucher is happy to see his players among the leaders in blocks a little more. He said blocked shots are "the No. 1 criteria to see people paying the price to win." Defensemen Eric Brewer and Matt Carle lead the team with 11 shot blocks each.
