Danny Lee blistered Pebble Beach for a 9-under-par 32-31=63 in his opening round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
The rookie was on fire today in what was a dramatic turn of events after an extremely slow start to 2012. He hit 15 greens and needed just 24 putts en route to a new career low on the PGA TOUR. He didn't require his putter at the par-4 11th hole where he holed out from 106 yards for eagle, or at the par-5 second where he blasted in for another eagle from a greenside bunker 15 yards from the cup. However, the club came in handy at the 17th and fifth holes where he converted birdies of 12'4" and 18'11", respectively. At the time he signed his card, he owned sole possession of the clubhouse lead. The 21-year-old will move over to Spyglass for Friday's second round.
