Broken foot to shelve Hartnell for 4-8 weeks
Scott Hartnell - W - Philadelphia Flyers
Jan. 25, 2013 - 4:55 PM ET

Scott Hartnell is projected to miss four to eight weeks with a broken foot.

The Flyers winger broke the first metatarsal in his left foot in the third period on Tuesday when he was struck by a shot from teammate Kimmo Timonen. GM Paul Holmgren couldn't provide an exact timetable because there are still conversations that will take place with doctors to determine the best way to proceed. However, he did say, "It's probably going to be between four to eight weeks. ... Obviously it's a significant injury."
