Jeremy Roenick thinks that Jarome Iginla might want to get out of Calgary for the sake of winning a Stanley Cup.
Iginla is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. "I would really like to see him win a Cup, I think he deserves it," said Roenick. "I think he has a good enough rapport and a good enough relationship with the fans of Calgary where if (a trade) happened, they would understand. They wouldn't hold it against him to try to win a Cup because he's given so much to this city, both on the ice and off the ice." Calgary might end up wanting to trade him if they have a poor to mediocre record going into the trade deadline and they don't like their chances of re-signing him. Iginla has been a huge part of the Flames' franchise, but he's 35-years-old and at this point they might stand more to gain in the long run by trading him.
