Nathan Gerbe (back) hopes to play Thursday

Nathan Gerbe (back) returned to practice on Wednesday and said he feels ready to play on Thursday.
"I hope I'm playing," said Gerbe, who still needs the green light from the medical staff to be taken off Buffalo's injured reserve list. "It's been a very long, long, long recovery for me. I've been out since basically April, and to come back this is my first game lockout or no lockout, this is about the time I'd be ready anyways, so I'm pretty excited."
