Martin Brodeur stopped all 24 shots he faced Tuesday night en route to a 3-0 shutout win over Philadelphia.
The future Hall of Famer has allowed just one goal on 43 shots in a 2-0-0 start to the season, but much of the credit should be heaped on the New Jersey defense corps. Despite the well-publicized departure of Zach Parise, the Devils are proving that a sound defensive system can still deliver results.
