Wade Redden has been bought out by the New York Rangers.
They exercised one of their compliance buyouts, so Redden's contract won't count against them from a cap perspective in 2013-14. Redden will now have the opportunity to play with an NHL squad in 2013. He's definitely worth keeping an eye on, especially given that he put up great numbers in the minors. At the same time, he hasn't played in the NHL in well over two years and at the age of 35, staging a successful comeback will be tough. With that in mind, don't pick him up in standard leagues unless he starts to produce with whatever club he ends up with.
