Wade Redden clears waivers

Wade Redden has cleared unconditional waivers.
That opens the door for the New York Rangers to buyout his contract. Doing so won't rid them of his cap hit for this season, but it would give Redden the chance to play right away. Redden hasn't played in an NHL contest since the 2009-10 campaign, but he has done well in the minors. We certainly wouldn't expect much from him if he gets another shot with a different club, but he's worth keeping an eye on.
