The NCAA is expected to rule shortly on the eligibility status of former Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush while he was at USC.

Reggie Bush reportedly has reached a settlement in a civil case brought by Lloyd Lake, one of the financiers of failed marketing agency New Era Sports & Entertainment.

The settlement, reported by Yahoo! Sports on Tuesday night, three days before Bush was scheduled to give a deposition in the suit, centers on $300,000 in unpaid rent, cash and other benefits allegedly provided to the Heisman Trophy winner and his family while he was at USC.

The amount of Bush’s settlement with Lake is not known, Yahoo! Sports reported.

Bush's relationship with New Era Sports sparked a lengthy NCAA probe into the running back that eventually grew to encompass the entire Trojan athletics program.

The NCAA, which wrapped up its investigation into USC on Feb. 20, is expected to shortly rule on its findings.

It was expected that the NCAA was waiting for transcripts from Bush, Lake or anyone else involved in the New Era case before making any decision involving USC.
