Rangers add Brandon Mashinter in swap

The New York Rangers acquired Brandon Mashinter from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Tommy Grant and their seventh-rounder in 2014.
Mashinter joined San Jose as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He played in 13 games at the NHL level in 2010-11, failing to score a point. He didn't manage to play for the NHL's Sharks last season, settling for 62 games with Worcester.
